Leukemia |
Strain |
Strain:? BALB/c (B cell); BALB/c (myeloma) |
Applications |
The antibody reacts specifically with GPIIIa, but does not inhibit platelet aggregation. It is useful for studies of human GPIIIa expression by flow cytometry, Western blot (non-reduced) and affinity chromatography methods. The antibody can also be used for the classification of human megakaryocytic leukemias and Glanzmann thrombasthenia. |
Derivation |
Animals were immunized with partially purified human platelet glycoproteins IIb and IIIa (GPIIb and GPIIIa, respectively). Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells. |
Genes Expressed |
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against beta 3 integrin (platelet GPIIIa) |
Cellular Products |

Comments |
Animals were immunized with partially purified human platelet glycoproteins IIb and IIIa (GPIIb and GPIIIa, respectively). Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells. The antibody recognizes all known allelic forms of the beta 3 subunit of the integrin superfamily. The two glycoproteins (GPIIb and GPIIIa) together form the platelet binding site for fibrinogen. |
Complete Growth Medium |
The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated RPMI-1640 Medium, Catalog No. 30-2001. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
|
Subculturing |
Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 X 10 exp5 cells/ml and maintain between 1 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 cells/ml. |
