Biosafety classification is based on U.S. Public Health Service Guidelines, it is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that their facilities comply with biosafety regulations for their own country. |
Strain |
Strain: ?BALB/c (B cell); BALB/c (myeloma) |
Applications |
The antibody detects an antigen present on 95% of patients susceptible to rhematic fever. Elevated levels of D8/17 antibodies may represent a marker of susceptibility to "pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections" (PANDAS). |
Disclosure |
This material is cited in a US or other Patent and may not be used to
infringe the claims. Depending on the wishes of the Depositor, ATCC may be
required to inform the Patent Depositor of the party to which the material was
furnished. This material may not have been produced or characterized by ATCC. |
Derivation |
Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.U1 myeloma cells. |
Clinical Data |
The antibody detects an antigen present on 95% of patients susceptible to rhematic fever. |
Genes Expressed |
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against a human B cell alloantigen associated with rheumatic fever |
Cellular Products |
immunoglobulin; monoclonal antibody; against a human B cell alloantigen associated with rheumatic fever |
Tumorigenic |
Yes |
Effects |
Yes, forms ascites in BALB/c mice |
Comments |
Animals were immunized with human B lymphocytes. Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.U1 myeloma cells. The antibody detects an antigen present on 95% of patients susceptible to rhematic fever. It did not react with other leukocyte antigens tested (HLA A, B, C, and DR1 through DR8). Elevated levels of D8/17 antibodies may represent a marker of susceptibility to "pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections" (PANDAS). |
Complete Growth Medium |
The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: horse serum to a final concentration of 10%.
|
Subculturing |
Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density) Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 1 X 10 exp5 viable cells/ml. Maintain cell density between 1 X 10 exp5 and 1 X 10 exp6 viable cells/ml. |
Culture Conditions |
Temperature: 37.0°C |
Isotype |
IgM; kappa light chain |
