The antibody reacts specifically with mouse macrophages in many tissue sites (liver, spleen, bone marrow, brain), and precipitates a 160000 dalton glycoprotein (function unknown).
At the request of Dr. Gordon, the line was deposited with the ATCC in 1988 by Dr. Ralph Steinman of the Rockefeller University.
Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox). |
