Comments |
A longevity study performed by ATCC showed that the depositor's material was capable of growing for an additional 22 population doublings (i.e., unknown + 22) before the onset of senescence. Passage number is different from population doubling level (PDL). Please refer to the Certificate of Analysis for the PDL of the current lot of cells. Current distribution stocks are prepared with only 4-5 Population Doublings (PDLs) remaining under recommended culture conditions after cryopreservation.
Epidermal growth factor (EGF) and platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) stimulate DNA synthesis and proliferation in HGF-1 cells.
Bradykin receptors are present on the cells at an apparent density of 22000 per cells and dissociation constant (Kd) of 1.2 nM. The receptors are coupled to a signaling pathway involving phospholipase C and A2 and calcium channel effectors.

Complete Growth Medium |
The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium, Catalog No. 30-2002. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
|
Subculturing |
Remove medium, and rinse with 0.25% trypsin, 0.53 mM EDTA solution. Remove the solution and add an additional 1 to 2 mL of trypsin-EDTA solution. Allow the flask to sit at room temperature (or at 37°C) until the cells detach. Add fresh culture medium, aspirate and dispense into new culture flasks.
Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:3 to 1:6 is recommended
Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week |
