Animals were immunized with a bacterially produced fusion protein expressing pGST-dSREBP (amino acids 1 to 451). Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0-Ag14 myeloma cells. The antibody recognizes both the precursor and mature forms of the Drosophila SREBP transcription factor in cultured S2 (Schneider) Drosophila cells. It can be used in immunoblotting assays to detect Drosophila SREBP and to study SREBP in S2 cells grown in various conditions. |

Subculturing |
Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium. Alternatively, cultures can be established by centrifugation with subsequent resuspension at 2 X 10(5) viable cells/ml. Interval: Maintain cell density between 2 X 10(5) and 1 X 10(6) viable cells/ml. Medium Renewal: Add fresh medium every 2 to 3 days (depending on cell density) |
