Applications |
The cells are useful producing MSV pseudotypes with various ecotropic and xenotropic murine leukemia viruses. |
Storage Conditions |
liquid nitrogen vapor phase |
Derivation |
This cell line was derived from HOS (ATCC CRL-1543) by transformation using Kirsten murine sarcoma virus (Ki-MSV). |
Clinical Data |
female Caucasian 13 years |
Tumorigenic |
Yes |
Effects |
Yes, Tumors developed within 21 days at 100% frequency (5/5) in nude mice inoculated subcutaneously with 10(7) cells. |
Comments |
The cells exhibit a high saturation density, a high plating efficiency in soft agar and produce tumors in nude mice.
Cells carry the Ki-MSV genome but do not produce infectious virus particles or viral antigens. |
Complete Growth Medium |
The base medium for this cell line is ATCC-formulated Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium, Catalog No. 30-2003. To make the complete growth medium, add the following components to the base medium: fetal bovine serum to a final concentration of 10%.
|
Subculturing |
Remove medium, add fresh 0.25% trypsin solution for 2 to 3 minutes, remove trypsin and let the culture sit at room temperature until the cells detach. Add fresh medium, aspirate and dispense into new flasks.
Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:4 is recommended
Medium Renewal: 2 to 3 times per week |
