Animals were immunized with stromal cells from mouse bone marrow. Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0 myeloma cells. The antibody blocks adhesion of lymphocyte precursors to bone marrow stromal cells. The antibody recognizes an antigen believed to be the mouse equivalent of human VCAM-1 that is expressed on bone marrow stromal cells and on inflamed endothelial cells (see also M/K-2.7, ATCC CRL-1909). |
