male |
Strain |
Copenhagen |
Applications |
MAT-LyLu was derived from a adult malignant rat prostate tumor obtained from a 22 month old inbred Copenhagen rat by Isaacs et al. They are more resistant to vinblastine compared to controls. These cells express a multidrug (MDR) resistant phenotype. This cell line can be used to study chemotherapy resistance in prostate cancer. |
Derivation |
MAT-Ly-Lu-B-2 was developed from the MAT-LyLu cell line (ATCC JHU-92). MAT-LyLu was derived from a adult malignant rat prostate tumor obtained from a 22 month old inbred Copenhagen rat by Isaacs et al. |
Clinical Data |
This cell line can be used to study chemotherapy resistance in prostate cancer. male |
Comments |
MAT-Ly-Lu-B-2 was developed from the MAT-LyLu cell line (ATCC JHU-92). MAT-LyLu was derived from a adult malignant rat prostate tumor obtained from a 22 month old inbred Copenhagen rat by Isaacs et al. The parental cells were grown in increasing concentrations of the drug doxorubicin until the final concentration of 0.001 mM was achieved. These cells express a multidrug (MDR) resistant phenotype. They are more resistant to vinblastine compared to controls. This cell line can be used to study chemotherapy resistance in prostate cancer. |
Complete Growth Medium |
RPMI 1640 medium with 2 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate, 4.5 g/L glucose, 10 mM HEPES, and 1.0 mM sodium pyruvate and supplemented with 0.001 mM doxorubicin, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%
|
Subculturing |
Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:3 to 1:8 is recommended Medium Renewal: Every 2 to 3 days Remove medium, and rinse with 0.25% trypsin, 0.03% EDTA solution. Remove the solution and add an additional 1 to 2 ml of trypsin-EDTA solution. Allow the flask to sit at room temperature (or at 37C) until the cells detach. Add fresh culture medium, aspirate and dispense into new culture flasks. |
