The antibody recognizes the alpha subunit of a 160000/130000 dalton cell surface heterodimer expressed on lymphocytes and lymphomas capable of binding to high endothelial venules (HEV) of murine Peyer's patch.
This subunit corresponds to the alpha subunit of the human VLA-4 integrin receptor, and the two are structurally closely related (if not identical). |
