This line was derived from S49.1 (ATCC TIB-28) by selecting for resistance to 10 mM thymidine and 0.1 mM 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine. Like the parent line, the cells are sensitive to 0.001 mM cortisol (hydrocortisone), 5 mcg/ml phytohemagglutinin and 0.01 mM 6-thioguanine. Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox). |
