Morphology
On malt extract medium, aerial mycelium is downy, slightly cottony, and floccose due to small patches of fructifications or fruiting initials. Advancing zone is even and appressed. Hyphae are with clamps at most septa, but wide, submerged hyphae are without clamps (variable), 1-8 μm wide, thin-walled; chlamydospores are broadly ellipsoid, 8-10 x 10-12 μm, slightly thick-walled, terminally or intercalary located. Fruiting in culture is observed within 6 weeks, and generally plates are covered in 2 weeks.
