Protocol: ATCCNO: 50521 SPEC: Monoprotist culture, cultivated with mixed bacteria. Place thawed contents of ampule into T-25 flask containing 10 ml of ATCC medium 802 bacterized with Enterobacter aerogenes ATCC-13048 as a food source. Subculture every 4-8 weeks (when maintained at 25C; cysts are stable longer at lower temperatures) as follows: Rub the surface of the agar with a sterile swab, agitate vigorously and aseptically transfer a 0.1 ml aliquot to a fresh flask of bacterized medium.
