A gene encoding an endocellulase from Clostridium strain IY-2 which can digest bamboo fibers, cellulose, rice straw, and sawdust, was isolated by shotgun cloning in an E.coli expression plasmid pLC2833. E.coli k-12 comprising a vector, pLC2833 which contains a promoter and a 2.8 kb Clostridium strain IY-2 DNA insert which is further cleaved in to 2.2 kb DNA fragment comprising at least an entire structural gene and signal sequences of cellulase. |
