Strongly cell associated in vitro and in vivo except for feather follicle epithelium of infected chickens.
Stable for at least 30 years in viable cells frozen at -196°C.
Antigens detectable by immunodiffusion and immunofluorescence. Antigenically related to herpesvirus of turkeys (HVT), but distinct from infectious laryngotracheitis and duck enteritis virus.
Proportion of viral DNA composed of guanine and cytosine is 56-57%. |
